A current resident of Severn, MD, Steve Dannenmann is married with a child, and has worked as a mortgage banker, it was possibly his ability to master facts and figures that led him into poker and it was a good decision for in 2005 he was placed second in the 2005 World Series of Poker and winning a very respectable $4,250,000.

There is an interesting story attached to his entry into this main event and this was a very close friend of his split the entry fee with him so each one put up half of the $10,000 that was required to take part, when it was time to collect the winnings from the cashier Steve immediately gave his friend his half of the winnings.
